Musicians, come play at The Blue Room this Summer
Tue, 13 Oct 2009, 07:15 pmThe Blue Room Theatre is excited to announce the addition of a weekly music night to their summer season of one-off and weekly spoken word/theatre/cabaret gigs - 21 Summer Nights.
21 Summer Nights will take place Mon-Fri over four weeks in Feb/Mar 2010 to coincide with The Blue Room Theatre's 21st Birthday. Due to a host of recent inquiries, the multi-arts venue has decided to open their doors to live music acts for a strictly limited opportunity.
CALLOUT
If you've ever wanted to showcase your music in an intimate theatre setting, The Blue Room Studio is being offered on Thursdays during 21 Summer Nights at no cost to artists. The Blue Room Studio is a black box performance space, with seating for 50 people, situated within The Blue Room Theatre in the Perth Cultural Centre.
The Blue Room Theatre exists to support local independent performing arts practice, but is also known for its unpretentious atmosphere, cozy bar, and some of the lowest drink prices in Northbridge.
This series of one-night-only opportunities is open to low-fi music acts of any genre who are keen to escape the noisy pub environment and have their music showcased in front of a dedicated audience.
To apply for one of our Thursday night Blue Room Studio spots, please submit your act's CV/bio (1–2 pages) with recorded example/s of your work (if available) to The Blue Room by Monday 26 October: mail to PO Box 8369 PBC WA 6849; deliver to 53 James St Northbridge; or email kerry@blueroom.org.au .
