Hello, I'm 13 and i have been training for a acting career since i can remember. I've done my 3rd grade AMEB singing exam and 2nd grade AMEB clarinet exam. I also learn the flute. I've had speaking role in our secondary school musical. I have also done my 1st grade AMEB drama exam. I've also modeled for Bettina management in the past. I have begun acting for camera classes with NIDA and have done Brave studios acting for camera holiday program.I live in Melbourne and i am interested in joining Catherine poulton management. Is this enough to stand a chance in CPM's fierce competition? Anyone with experience please help. Also where can i go to get more EXPERIENCE? Thanks

Hello Smiggle, There have been many similar posts from people your age on this site over the years regarding getting in to acting. You may find it helpful to read some of the advice already offered to people in a similar situation as yourself. Have you considered asking these questions to the instructors you met at your NIDA camera classes and Brave Studios? I would have thought they would be a logical first point of contact. After all, the people who run and teach these classes are in the industry and can offer you very accurate advice. As far as getting an agent goes, you may do well to assess what you have to offer an agent, and the industry, in terms of your skills and performance experience. Is there a huge demand for 13 year old girls who can play clarinet, flute, have been in their high school play and done some introductory singing and drama exams? "EXPERIENCE" for you at this stage may be best found in continuing with your classes, sounding out some amateur theatre shows and just spending a few more years on the planet. The whole world of agents, photographic portfolios, online talent listings and being a professional actor can cost significant money and time. Until you turn 18 your parents will be obliged to financially and physically support any endeavour you get involved in. Before you go randomly contacting agents, teeing up photos or getting your hopes up it would be well worth discussing your ambitions with your parents and finding out how able, or happy, they are to support you. Again, there are numerous threads on this site regarding Agents. I hope this helps. Tulipa.
