Casting Call - Online Comedy/Soap Series

OPEN CASTING CALL: SUNDAY 26 JULY, from 10am We are casting for SINTILLATE STUDIOS, a 10 x 5 min online comedy/soap series. SINTILLATE STUDIOS takes a look at the behind-the-scenes antics and debauchery of Australia’s premier adult entertainment studio. Note: our actors must be adventurous enough to show some skin when the scene calls for it – legs, stomachs and perhaps the occasional bottom. Some sex acts will be simulated (head in front of crotch, etc) but it’s all cheekily done. Breasts and ruder bits will not be shown. We’re shooting in November, so cast will need to be available around this time. Please note this is an unpaid gig, but if you’re after a great experience, fun and possible global exposure – you’ve come to the right place! We are casting the following characters: Justin (mid 20s) – The Porn Star Next Door (main cast) Justin is affable, genuine and beginning to build a good reputation for himself in front of the camera. He remains fairly indifferent to the porn world and all that comes with it. Justin has a crush on Carly, the new recruit, but doesn’t act, respecting the fact that she has a boyfriend. Looks: Handsome but still ‘everyday guy’, buff Felicity (mid to late 20s) – The Villainess (main cast) Felicity is Carly’s older sister. She’s a well-established actor in the industry. Felicity needs to be the centre of attention and embodies everything unhealthy and self-destructive about the porn industry. Felicity is a serious drug user and occasional self-harmer. She hates her ex-boyfriend and fellow colleague, Sterling. Looks: Attractive but a little weathered, a bit of darkness about her, brown or black hair Brad (mid 20s) – The Conflicted Boyfriend (main cast) Brad is Carly’s long-term boyfriend. He loves Carly and has convinced himself that he’s cool with her porn career, but secretly, it niggles at him constantly. He’s an everyday, easygoing guy who wants to start settling down soon. Looks: Average Aussie guy Alisha (about 20) – The Bimbo (main cast) Alisha is drop-dead gorgeous, in a ‘look at me! look at me!’ kind of way. She’ll come out saying some of the stupidest shit you’ll ever hear, but she’s mostly harmless. Alisha’s very successful – Sintillate’s top-selling star, hence she’s a little up herself. But there’s one subject Alisha can’t bring herself to talk about – her bellybutton. Looks: Blonde, fit body, very attractive, girly-girl Sterling (late 20s) – The Stud (main cast) Sterling is another one of Sintillate’s big names. He’s uber-hot and stars in both straight and gay porn films. And he’s a Christian. Sterling dreams of becoming a real actor, getting to tackle meaty roles. He’s uncertain of his sexuality. He thinks his ex, Felicity, is a nasty bitch, but at the same time he understands her and feels sorry for her. Looks: Hot, buff, a maturity about him Jizz (mid 20s) – The Oddball Director (main cast) Jizz – Jeremy on his birth certificate – is a young, up-and-coming and eccentric writer/director. He wants to reinvent the porn industry and infuse it with some artistic merit. His imagination knows no bounds, and he lives for exciting, new ideas. Jizz is often impractical in his demands and rubs his co-workers the wrong way. Looks: A bit zany-looking, average body (definitely no porn star) Boss (30s or 40s) – Sintillate Studio’s Big Arsehole of a Boss (guest role – two episodes) ‘Boss’ (as he insists on being called) owns Sintillate Studios – it’s part of his larger portfolio of gambling and adult entertainment businesses. Boss is an arrogant, crass and belittling arsehole. He’s had a hands-off approach to running Sintillate but now that things seem to be going down the crapper, he’s taking charge with an iron fist. And anyone who opposes him can fuck off. Looks: Not the ‘big bad guy’ looks you would expect – small in height and/or frame Stalintrotsky (40s or 50s) – The Eccentric Acting Coach (guest role – two episodes) ‘The famous Stalintrotsky’ is not actually all that famous. He failed as an actor (though would never admit it) and so naturally, his next step was to become an acting coach. He hails from Russia and has a thick accent... which he uses to enhance his theatrical bravado. He’s eccentric, and uses some bizarre techniques for acting exercises. Looks: Russian-y, intense, commands the attention of a room Frank (mid 50s) - Carly and Felicity’s Father (guest role – one episode) Frank is warm and outgoing, if somewhat dorky (loves wearing his World’s Greatest Dad barbeque apron). Above anything else in life, wants to see his two daughters happy. He has an especially close relationship with Felicity. However, Frank’s testicles are kept under lock-and-key by Beverley, his wife. Looks: Average, but with a warmth about him and a big smile Beverley (mid 50s) – Carly and Felicity’s Mother (guest role – one episode) Beverley wants the best for her daughters. But she’s already decided what that is and any deviation from this plan is a slap in the face to her. She has conservative morals and an edge of snobbery about her. Beverley’s relationship with Felicity has disintegrated beyond repair. Her marriage with Frank is a pretty dead one, but at least he does what he’s told.
