Her Infinite Variety
Mon, 22 June 2009, 05:56 pmHi,
Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please,
come and see Her Infinite Variety, please :)
The show is the result of three and half years of research, it's an exploration of the impact and influence the Actress had on the performance of Shakespeare during the Restoration.
But don't take this to mean it's going to be intellectual (after all, it's me we're talking about here). We've got Wade Ellis in a dress, Murray Jackson and Martin Lindsay playing Demetrius (see if you can tell them apart!), Shakespeare throwing a hissy fit, Juliet meeting her Restoration counterpart and a Bard off, the likes of which the world has never seen.
Performances will be on July 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th at 8pm at the Nexus Theatre, Murdoch University, South Street, Murdoch. Tickets are $15 adults and $12 concession, bookings can be made at herinfinitevariety@hotmail.com or on 0403 293 969
Book to see it, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please . . . and so on

Please do come to Her Infinite Variety
Not sure if promising the sight of Wade Ellis in a dress or Martin Lindsay and myself onstage together is the strongest of selling points but if you have any humanity, please come and watch because if you don't I will have to put up with her disappointment....for weeks. The winter is cold enough as it is.
Take pity on me.
Please.
Oh, and Lindsay's really good - very amusing. And if you missed Romeo and Juliet earlier in the year you can see Sarah reprise her role pretty much. Oh yeah, and Wade Ellis in a dress.

Definitely
I will definitely be there and am very much looking forward to it!

Other People's thoughts about Shakespeare .....
The rumour around town is that Her Infinite Variety is very good and was originally going to be called Variety Infinite Her .....? You will only find out if you attend.
But for those of you who can't wait until the 01st July - here are some other people's thoughts on Shakespeare:
Quotes about William Shakespeare by Oscar Wilde (1854 - 1900)
"Now we sit through Shakespeare in order to recognize the quotations."
"Are the commentators on "Hamlet" really mad, or only pretending to be?"
The remarkable thing about Shakespeare is that he is really very good - in spite of all the people who say he is very good.
Robert Graves Quote (1895 - 1985)
When I read Shakespeare I am struck with wonder
That such trivial people should muse and thunder
In such lovely language.
D. H. Lawrence Quote (1885 - 1930)
Shakespeare - The nearest thing in incarnation to the eye of God.
Laurence Olivier Quote (1907 - 1989)
One blonde to another...
Have you ever read Shakespeare? No. Who wrote it?
Why did Shakespeare marry Anne Hathaway?
She was the only woman who had a way with him---groan!!
William Shakespeare walks into a pub and the barman says, "Oi, Get out of here, You're Bard!"
Said Hamlet to Ophelia,
"I'll do a sketch of thee.
What kind of pencil shall I use?
2B, or not 2B?"
Yeah...geek me knows it by heart!
What's the difference between William Shakespeare and Walt Disney.
Shakespeare writes and Walt Disney.
Try it in a Scottish accent.
Wishing you stars and tears Melissa

No, sorry...there aren't
No, sorry...there aren't enough 'pleases' to make me come along to this play.
DazzaBWed, 24 June 2009, 10:50 am
Shame...
Shame, you'll be missing a spectacular piece of theatre. With research for the show conducted in places such as the Folger Library in Washington DC this show is set to be something truly special - an experience not to be missed for those familiar with The Bard's work
A great big CHOOKAS to all involved :)

Gee what a loss to the
Gee what a loss to the audience.
What a pathetic pointless mean spirited posting!
Walter PlingeThu, 25 June 2009, 10:36 am
You mean the one from
You mean the one from DazzaB? I totally agree.
jmuzzThu, 25 June 2009, 10:40 am
Clarification?
Which post in particular? If you're referring to the one where the person says there aren't enough 'pleases' in Melissa's plea to have them attend, I think they were just being playful. I found it amusing actually.
Let's never lose sight of having fun.
If Walter Shakepeare doesn't come, it's o.k.
But Walter, if you're reading this, please, please, please do
;)

I took it as a joke as well...
& for the record, I'll be pleased, pleased, pleased to come along - & encourage Walters, Wilburs & Willheminas all to do the same...
