Participants will work vigorously with the body and the breath to access a place of honesty and instinct. This workshop is ideal for actors, dancers, performance artists, street performers and musicians who are committed to truly meeting themselves and their audience as a performer and a person. From 2003 - 2007 Steven was the Associate Director and Senior Teacher of/for Brisbane based theatre company, Zen Zen Zo Physical Theatre. During this time, he created and directed over 20 works including; The opening ceremony performance of Macbeth for the 2006 World Shakespeare Congress, The interactive Sub-Con Warrior 1 which won Best Director and Best New Work Del Arte Awards, Promenade Butoh show those with Lucifer.. nominated for an Australian Choreographic Award, and the national and international touring secondary schools production of Romeo and Juliet. Steven is now the Artistic Director of The Danger Ensemble and a specialist teacher in somatic actor training systems and improvisational methods including the Suzuki Method of Actor Training and Butoh Dance Theatre. He has taught intensive training workshops in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Hong Kong and London. He has also taught for Queensland University of Technology and Griffith University in the areas of Physical Theatre and Theatre Direction.
