More info?
We need to know a bit more...
1. Are you looking for a small theatre company to do the show, or are you part of a company looking to find a small theatre that will put the show on?
2. Or both?
3. Would it be community theatre or for profit?
4. Does it need to be a company local to the area?
5. Who's your target audience?
6. When do you aim/hope to put it on?
Just a few questions :)

Shakespeare
I am a new small business (private venture) looking for a small theatre company to put on a show in Dwellingup. I have just started my business and don't plan to make a profit for a while, just hope to break even, for a chance to bring entertainment to Dwellingup. I saw the "Shakespeare in the Park" last week and wondered if something similar could come to Dwellingup and if so approx what would the cost be. There has not been much entertainment apart from the pub for years here. We have 375,000 visitors to Dwellingup each year, so the target audience is vast, sometimes holiday makers are here for one or two weeks at a time, plus many people have retired to Dwellingup from all walks of like.

Fabulous
Hi there Di.
You need to be careful when you throw open the doors to theatre productions and especially when doing Shakespeare. You need to be very sure about many things- who is the director, has he directed outdoors (because yes, it IS VERY different), where will the cast come from? How long is the season? What do you want to create? Dinner show? Tourism promotion? etc etc. Where would the cast/crew stay? It can be a logistical nightmare...
My suggestion is talk to many people before you commit to anything!
Cheers
Adam

Do not assume that tourists
Do not assume that tourists will want to come and see your show. Often they have different motivations when on holiday than at home.
Is that all there is? Well if that's all there is my friend, then let's keep dancing.

Shakespeare
Hi all, thanks for your comments they are a great help. I was hoping to piggy back off another show (if that's possible) that has just finished as I don't think Dwellingup could be a season show place, just a one or two evening event.

Some leads
I believe Class Act have been involved in some Shakespeare shows which were based regionally (Busselton area)...if not formally, then many of their members have. They might be able to give tips on what was required, if they don't actually have a show up and running.

Stephen Lee is a good contact for all things Shakespearian and has experience in this sort of thing.
