looking for an amatuer theatre in Melbourne
Thu, 26 Feb 2009, 10:13 pmHi I'm living in Hawthorn and studying in Prahran, I was wondering if there were any amatuer theatre companies around that I could join. I've looked on the internet but I'm still learning the layout of Melbourne so its difficult for me to know how close they are

I'm from Balwyn and did high school near Hawthorn, and studied at Swinburne's Prahran campus - so I'm pretty familiar with the area. Off the top of my head no Hawthorn companies come to mind, but I'm sure there'll be something in or around Hawthorn and Kew. If nothing else, you may have to head a little east or west to get to a company. I know of a couple in Camberwell, and there's probably some in Richmond. I know Whitehorse has a fairly popular musical theatre group... hmmm... but I really can't think of a name for one in Hawthorn... :P
