"KNOB PLAY" (working title) A romantic comedy - about customer service. Life is hard without a knob. One man's quest to get a replacement part out of a large bureaucracy. EARLY CASTING CALL - (NOTE: this is a PLAY, not a film) To be performed Melb. Northern suburbs in June 09. This is a voluntary CO-OP production. Looking to cast all roles. CHARACTER OUTLINES: (ages only approx.) JAMES (20), a compassionate and amusing gay boy in customer service GREG (30), the dishevelled state manager who is having a mental breakdown CLARISSA (25), a check-out-chick-type in customer service who has lots of boyfriends CHANTEL (28), the artificial and domineering service manager, who is the CEO's daughter TREVOR (35+), a disgruntled customer (and handyman) MS. SPOON (35+), a disgruntled but wrong customer, who is more than slightly dotty EDNA (45+), the kitchen lady, who is "like someone's mum" AUDITION INVOLVES: 1. a short improvisation exercise 2. optional performance of a short monologue of your choice (Acting CVs welcome but optional. Script samples are available but not relevant for early audition.)
