Can anyone help, please?

Sorry Jeff, no you won't see me next Saturday. As usual I'm up to my eyeballs in set painting and rehearsals and have recently discovered that I've been carrying pleurisy around with me for quite some time - which explains why I've been distinctly unwell at various times, particularly over the past year or so. This all came to light just over a week ago when severe chest pains led me to front up at Royal Perth Hospital. I really thought I was in trouble - well, I suppose I am! The course of antibiotics they gave me appear to have had no effect whatsoever, so for the moment I don't know what the next step is going to be until I can see my G.P. - and that looks like being a month or so away, considering how difficult it is to get doctor's appointments nowadays. But I'm committed to a few things at present and as soon as they're over I intend to take a long break from theatre. Six months would be good. I don't think it would be wise to take on anything new, so my apologies and best wishes for 'Doctor in the House' - I really would have liked to be a part of it. I guess that's pretty much what I wanted to say in the blog. Unfortunately, now I really must start saying "no" . . . emphatically!
