Great opportunity for Perth people, from the Blue Room
Mon, 13 Oct 2008, 05:20 pmHello Everyone
Thought this might interest a number of people on here. It's a great opportunity to perform and also to be given valuable feedback on your work.
The Blue Room are looking for an array of fresh, thought provoking and powerful solo performances for their 25 Summer Nights Festival in Jan/Feb 2009. If you have a idea for an original monologue, mime or spoken word performance, we want you! Pieces can be created by small groups, as long they are performed solo. Length should be between 5 and 25 minutes.
If your entry is chosen you will be invited to peer feedback sessions during the creation of your piece, as well as having the opportunity to perform it for audiences during the 25 Summer Nights Festival. Token payment will be made by co-op of door sales.
All questions and queries are to go to Jeffrey Jay Fowler.
To apply, just email your artist bio and a paragraph or two describing your proposed work to jeffreyjayfowler@gmail.com with "Blue Solo Spot Application" in the header. Applications are due by the 31st of October. Please be aware there are a limited number of places available, and entries will be assessed on previous experience, suitability, originality of the piece, and how the work fits with other accepted entries to make a dynamic mini-season.

Solo Spot
Wed, 15 Oct 2008, 11:07 amWe're after people who want to perform a solo piece, whether monologue, dance, song, etc etc.
People are welcome to apply with an idea for a performance they will make, or a performance they are currently making which perhaps still needs a little workshopping. We aren't necessarily looking for completed works, though we're open to all kinds of applications.
Between November and January, there will be two work shops where the people who are going to perform are invited to meet with each other and share their work in progress for constructive criticism.
If you have any further questions feel free to give me a buzz on the number listed above.
