Here is an e-mail I stumbled across sent out to all the clients of Nick Bonzanic agency: Instinct which charges around $900 up front to join: UPSET, DISAPPOINTED, LET DOWN, MAD & REALLY WATCHING YOU ALL NOW. Hello Everyone, I am sending off this email with allot of disappointment. I cannot believe that as Manager’s of your careers we are not being listened to. We know the best training, classes, teachers, and workshops. I will not let Tom or Craig book anyone anymore that does not show dedication to their art. I will no longer listen to any talent that wants to be submitted for work. I will determine who will and will not be sent for particular auditions & castings. Sorry guy’s but this is my choice from now on. I cannot have client’s recommending that talent need extra training as they are the ones that know. When the talent think they are “ALL THAT” that is the client’s and my decision. “WE KNOW” “I cannot believe that these classes have had to be cancelled”. “I will now determine who is and at what stage you are ready for Musical Theatre, Cruises and all casting positions”. “I am disappointed in the outcome and you have all left me no choice but to really put energy into those that do care. Those of you that do not will see a major change in bookings and castings coming your way.” IF YOU DO NOT BELIVE IN YOURSELVES, AND TRAINING. I NO LONGER BELIEVE IN YOU. I do not and will not represent talent that think they are already good enough. I only want to represent talent who know that there is a hell of a lot of work to do to get you to where you need to go. Hi. First I would like to state how insulting these postings are! I am currently on a contract at Tokyo Disneyland and the way you state that an agent merely sending you to these auditions does not consitute them as an agent also implies that this kind of job is not of any worth! I'll have you know that within the disney entertainers we have incredibly talented dancers who have achieved amazing feets in their careers, including plenty of members who have been with the New York Rockettes and musicals world wide!!! And they are all extremly happy and satisifed with the work here!!! Also..I have been a member of the agency Instinct. Nick is a fantastic agent who is extemly enthusiastic about what he does and the industry he works in! If you work for him, he will work for you. And that's simply how it is for all agents. As for the sign up fee, Instinct is a new agency, so money is not as well established as other agency's such as Grey Boy. That cost also includes proffesional photographs taken, membership paid for ATC2 etc. so it is not merely to just put your name on the books. And this is considerably cheap considering I have friends who have paid over $1000 for their photos taken at other agencies who sign up for 'free', including grey boy! and these agencies do do fantastic photos, but just cause it is not up front when you join does not mean later down the track there are more costs!! Sure there are people who would be unhappy with the agency, but you will hear unhappy stories not matter what agency you work for. But knowing Nick personally, I know that he is a fantastic guy who, if you work for him, as he states in his email, if you work hard, he will also work hard for you. I know plenty of people in the agency, and I can tell you now that they don't put in the effort!! And I can understand why he gets frustrated because those people create this type of bad image!!!! Just thought I would put my own comments in in regards to my own personal experience with instinct. thankyou nicole.
