I was approached in the street by a random stating he had just bought Brent Street. He reckons he is an agent. Any truth in this or is it a con??????

Be careful, no random who

Be careful, no random who bought Brent Street would be approaching people in the street. I did hear it was sold recently to a male but he is high profile and would not be walking the streets for talent

No Finding

After a quick search through their web and the net in general, I can find no evidence of BSt being sold or purchased recently.

Anyone who approaches you in the street like this should be treated with extreme caution. The word predator comes to mind.

Even if he really is associated, it still is dodgy.

I agree entirely; anyone

I agree entirely; anyone who comes up to you on the St and says they're an agent are usually to be avoided. Especially if they are connected with the above ad that Labrug links to. Sorry but Incorrect Everyone

In the Daily Telegraph and Herald Sun, Business section, Elle MacPhersons brother Ben, is the random who was approaching people in the street. His company AEG, has bought Brent Street http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,22863503-664,00.html He was definately the guy who approached me in the street.

Two things: Doesn't matter

Two things: Doesn't matter who approaches you, or who they're related to, if they just offer you work by coming up to you on the street, they're more likely to be dodgy. If it's too good to be true, it probably is. Secondly, the article says "Brent Street averages more than $3000 a student in annual income." How is that relevant to anything? Sounds like the reporter got lazy and and rewrote the media release that was sent to them. No one would seriously write that as important to the story of a business offering new opportunities to new talent. I'd still avoid them... that is, until they have some more impressive press or references. Thanks Na

Thanks Na for the advice and I hope others read your post. I would never eva go with anyone who approachs me in the street, and no matter who. Just seemed really weird that someone like that is recruiting in such a way. I was actually more interested in knowing whether there was truth behind Brent Street being sold - whether that was a pro or con. I had heard that there were problems within Brent Street and everyone said NO it had not been sold. Ahh well I wasnt going to go there anyway. I have seen 5 end of year performances from different establishments and can honestly say I was so impressed with ED5, Brent Street didnt come close and was way down the list but thats my opinion.
