Thu, 27 Sept 2007, 12:04 amStages, the WA Playwrights’ Consortium, has gained a national reputation for its commitment to the development, support and advocacy of Western Australian playwrights and performance writing. Stages is seeking a part-time Administration Assistant to work with the Director.
The successful applicant would meet the following selection criteria and would be employed on a 0.2 FTE pro-rata salary of $32,000 per annum to work for one (1) day (total of 7.5 hours) per week, or two (2) half days based on a 37.5 hour working week.
Essential selection criteria: demonstrated experience in administration, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, and good communication skills (both written and oral).
Preferable selection criteria: demonstrated experience in arts administration, proficient in MYOB accounting software, familiar with the Apple Macintosh environment, experience with Microsoft Entourage email software and AppleWorks database software.
Applications should include a letter addressing the position and the selection criteria, and detailing recent administration experience and any knowledge of or involvement with the arts industry. They should also include a current CV and be addressed to Phil Thomson, Director, Stages, PO Box 492, Leederville, WA 6903 or emailed to Phil Thomson at stages@stageswa.com. Applications close 5.00pm, Friday 5th October, 2007.

Opportunity???
Hmmm...That works out to $123 per week. You certainly wouldn't want to pay off a $350,000 mortgage on that one!

Relative
Well the salary is equivalent to a Public Servant level 1 6th year admin assistant. You work 1 day a week ($123/day) which leaves 4 working days a week to pursue other things. Now there's a perk.
For what it is, I don't think there is any reason for complaint. It is about industry standard.
