Flix Institute

I have been studying at flix for the past 6 months and have had the best time doing so! even after finishing my diploma shay & angela have always helped me out with getting jobs for film, bridal & fashion. They have been supportive in finding jobs for everyone who is passionate about it! Both shay and angela are informative & helpful & both know what they are talking about, so im not sure what happened with 'stardust'?

WOW I found Flix to be great !!!!!!

You know it never ceases to amaze me the depth of ones immaturity.I have been very lucky to have worked with and learnt off quite a few of the instructors at Flix and have found it to be great. I have been with them going on 9 months now and have worked on a magazine cover, short films,a radio celebrity, drag queens and now quite a few video clips and yes I do quite a few weddings but I also want to do weddings as it pays for a lot of make up that I need for all of the above things that I have done.Mr Bigglesworth/not telling you and Cindy whom I think are all the same person and I also believe to know me really well and possibly helped me with an assignment once, you need to realize that with all of your slander that you are mouthing and then typing is causing defamation and can become a legal matter and one can be sued for defamation.... All of the trainers be it that they are still with the institute or not are of brilliant standard and have always shown me great respect and in kind I return it back to them.It is up to an individual on where they would like to attend to do their course and it is also up to that same individual on how much they would like to get out of the course and institute they choose. If you put nothing in then you are going to get nothing in return and so if you use your drive and passion and put your effort in then you may be pleasantly surprised... I did and I am happy...But if you're not then it is up to you to create it for yourself and if need be go elsewhere...There is a code of ethics though that should always be honoured.Through Flix I have learnt a lot about all aspects of the make up industry and they have encouraged me to look and strive further. Like I said it is up to an individual on where they think they would be happiest, but always keep it real and keep it professional.

Its amazing

What I have learnt about FLIX is that they want to change the makeup world and help make up artists. I questioned Angela on all make up institutes and about peter and about other institutes and she has said they are all amazing. She never slanders or creates any view of "bitchyness" she is proactively trying to change the make up world for all us make up artists... its in experience and immaturity and sabotage that is prevailing in all these comments. If anyone is serious about make up and wants to suceed in life the way to do it is to enjoy what you are doing strive in what you believe in and synergy. An ant cannot live alone nor can a grain of sand but together we can all create mountains a new world and a new industry!!!

I LOVE FLIX!!

I have just started studying at Flix over the last three weeks, and I wanted to share my opinion on the training. We have had a few different trainers - it is not just Angela as alot of people have made out to be - and they are all great. I am doing the Masterclass and also starting the SPFX course and so far have found everyone very helpful, and Angela is lovely. She let me come along to a job she had on the weekend which was for a magazine cover - and she was so professional, and very experienced. I would recommend Flix, and all the 6 trainers I have met so far to anyone!

DIPLOMA/MASTERCLASS

I studied at Flix in the January - March Course 2007. I have worked on quite alot of student films, and also have also worked on two feature films over the last 2 momths, and we have another next month. I have done a few music video clips too, and am flying down to sydney at the end of the month to work on mel and koshi from sunrise. Mr Bigglesworth, there are no student write ups on the website about any student, anyone can go on the website and see that. You can most definately call Flix and get a referance, however my real name is not sarah Gordon - i can post my email address if you like and you can email me. I guess its just like your fake name Mr. Bigglesworth. And sorry I didnt mean to say Diploma, at the moment it is just the Masterclass, they are getting accredited though.. Mr Bigglesworth you seem to have taken a keen interest in Flix, for a potential student that appears not to like them.

I LOVE FLIX!

I'm studying at Flix - I love it! Angela, Heidi, Melanie, Daniele, Eva are all fantastic, and we are meeting some of the special effects trainers next week. I have seen them around the place, but i havent talked to them yet. I dont get where the bad comments are comming from, but i do agree with some of the other people that they dont sound proper. Each to there own I guess, but I just wanted to tell you that I love Flix, and will recommend it to everybody.

What a shame people feel

What a shame people feel the need to be so vindictive. I haven't been to flix, nor do I know anyone from there, but really, in the end, you are responsible for your own career. If you go somewhere and don't like the training, you had a choice, and you picked that one.... Take what you can from it and get out. When you go into a course, think long and hard about the kind of career you want. Some people don't mind doing weddings, student films and commercials. Others have different aspirations. Meet the people who run these places, and pick a place that leads where you want to follow. And in the end, it's a small world, so people who bad-mouth end up having the favour returned. When you get into the industry, the qualification you have will help get your resume read, but after that you are on your own merit, and that will be what makes or breaks you in the end.

This whole forum is

This whole forum is immature, pathetic and filled with comments that seem to be 'personal' towards trying to harm Angela. I am a casual trainer with Flix, and have myself worked on lots of different Films. I completely respect what Angela is doing. Angela Knows that she is just another makeup artist, along with the rest of us - but she also see's what the industry is missing; and has organised a facility to offer the training that is needed to students. I am one of many trainers there who feel the same. I think everyone here needs to realise that Angela is not lying to anyone about anything, she is a business woman - who loves makeup, and wants to see the industry grow. That is all. She is not claiming she is the next Dick Smith, she definately does not brag or even talk about anything she has ever done in the past, only encourage and support all the students. I know the courses are full because of the list of trainers that are on board; and Angela is ONLY ONE of the managers at Flix - who also trains in Bridal and Business - the areas of the industry in which she has had huge success. she is not even training any more; instead getting students work. So I think everyone needs to really understand what they are talking about before they start making innacurate comments.

I agree

I agree what you are saying. It just seems to me that many people are making comments on a situation, and facility, that they do not completely understand, on what it is about and how it works. It is different from every other Makeup Training Facility in Australia, and is changing and improving by the day - hense why I have agreed to train with them. I agree that some people will like the training, others wont, I just feel that the decision should be there's upon speaking and meeting with the staff and trainers and past students rather then basing a decision on all the rubbish that has been posted on here.
