"Delicious" Figaro - LAST 3 PERFORMANCES!
Thu, 26 July 2007, 12:18 pmCome and check out our final 3 performances of the "delicious" THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO! FRIDAY 27 July @ 7:30pm, SATURDAY 28 July @ 7:30pm, SUNDAY 29 July @ 5:00pm at the Subiaco Arts Centre, Hamersley Road, Subiaco. Tickets available at the door. Don't miss this "sexed-up and slimmed down" interpretation of Mozart's classic opera!
Mozart's wonderful opera The Marriage of Figaro is brought to you by Eventainment and yellowglass theatre inc., the production team that brought to Perth the sell out season of Hair at the Regal Theatre. Starring the amazing vocal talents of Penny Shaw, Tamsyn Stock-Stafford (both of WA Opera) and Andrew Conaghan ("Berger" in the recent sell-out smash HAIR) this is sure to be a Perth operatic event not to be missed.
Susanna and Figaro just want to get married but at Count Fashion Magazine, that's not so easy. With everyone wanting to be more beautiful than the bride, chaos and deception ensue. In the style of Ugly Betty and The Devil Wears Prada, this sexy and chic new interpretation of Mozart's raciest score is sure to enthrall us all over again.
So dryclean that Chanel and polish up those Blahnik's for an evening of comic fabulousness.
Adapted by Chris Kabay and Simon Holt and teamed with some of the most beautiful and intriguing opera singers Perth has to offer, how can you resist?
"Simply delicious, thoroughly entertaining and innovative. More Please!" William Yeoman, The West Australian
"If you like opera but loath the stuffiness of it, it would be hard not to enjoy this production. A great interpretation of a brilliant classic." Anna Locke - australianstage.com.au
