Blak Yak Typecasting?

Alright. The topic is a red herring, a trick to get some of you in here and spike extra interest. I apologise. I'm a new Director, mid-term Community Theatre Actor and a member of the young and vibrant Perth based theatre company Blak Yak. The reason I used the above topic is because I've previously been pointed at a forum thread on here where Blak Yak was accused by some of Type Casting. Being on the inside, I know that part of the reason people keep seeing "Old Reliable's" in Blak Yak productions is because we've been getting poor turn out to Auditions. I don't want that with this one act season. That's why I'm using deception to hopefully garner interest. We will be holding Auditions on the 22nd of this month. A audition notice will shortly be up on this site and our homepage at Blakyak.org, but I thought I'd get on here and start the interest boiling a few hours earlier. Auditions will most likely be held at the Blue Room, I'm just in the process of confirming. My play will be a Comical Farce and an original piece. It will contain Adult Themes and is recommended for the mature. There are 7 roles up for grabs, 2 male, 4 female and 1 to be played either male or female. The two "main" roles are a male and the "either way", but I've tried to make sure each of the parts has some "gold". There is also an 8th small role which has been cast, but the reasons for that and the available roles will be explained in the actual audition notice. Once again, I apologise for the subterfuge and I hope to see some fresh faces at the auditions (And lots of them!). You give me a go as your Director and I'll give you a go as my Actor. Deal?
