Actors in their 30's/40's wanted for Raw Nerve funded short film "Selling Hopkins". This is a 7 minute short to be filmed late March over 2-3 days. Small crew & budget but there will be some pay. Synopsis: Geeky, Unemployed, Weird – Toby’s personals ad doesn’t exactly write itself. When Mya, a quirky saleswoman, knocks on his door, Toby finally finds an interesting person to connect with. Selling Hopkins is the story of these two awkward people trying to understand fate during an uncomfortably humorous chance encounter… Character Descriptions: MYA: 30's/40's. Pretty but flawed. Socially awkward. Mya lost confidence after a failed relationship and found companionship in her pet dog. It just died. She’s at a breaking point in her life where the clock is ticking and she’s still single. TOBY: 30's/40's. An average man with kind eyes. Ex Computer programmer who was fired from his last job and sunk into a depression. Toby has spent each day in isolation. It’s crunch time for Toby to decide if he wants to spend the rest of his life alone or take a chance.
