Not sure if this is or isn't the right forum for this question - apologies if it isn't - but now that I'm here...

As a birthday "treat" I'm thinking of taking my daughter and a few close friends up to Perth for her birthday in June 2007 for a nice dinner, catch a show and then we can come home.  She will be 10.  She is "into" opera and musicals.  Her friends think Opera is for people from other planets but they forgive my daughter for being different because of her other fine qualities (grin)... they can be coerced to sit and watch some other form of entertainment though - a musical or a play or something that would interest a 10 year old girl - they'll all be 10 in June next year.

I have spent several hours tonight doing a web search checking out so many places I have lost count - many do but not all show something so far ahead as June 2007 - then I remembered you guys...

Does anyone know of any shows planning to be staged around June next year in the Perth/Freo area that one could take 10 year old girls to?

Thanks,

D!

Waapa's West Side Story

First, thanks to everyone who has, is or will post info on show possibilities in response to my query - I really appreciate it!

So far, I think the WAAPA prodn. of West Side Story might be a 'goer' - my daughter loved the movie and made me buy it for her - now she can just about recite the entire thing, everyone's roles :)  I think she'd like to go see that and it would be extra perfect if it is in fact done in June...  I don't see it on the WAAPA website yet so I'll check back early next year in Feb some time unless you think that's too early... anyhow, I'll keep checking...

I'm taking her to see Fiddler on the Roof at Burswood too - the tickets have murdered my credit card, but the smile on her face was worth it :)  She just about knows this entire movie word for word too...

So if anyone knows or hears of any musicals around June being put on somewhere, let me know :)  (Just in case I miss something...) thanks!!

The musicals put on by the

The musicals put on by the WAAPA music theatre students are always very high calibre and never fail to deliver! I have seen Sweet Charity and Crazy for You at WAAPA and they were brilliant. They are are as good - if not better - than any big-scale production. And for half the price ;)
