OPENING TONGIHT: A Bad Time For Songs - a Cabaret
Thu, 16 Nov 2006, 01:31 amCome and see an exciting new cabaret devised and performed by some of Perth’s most exciting young artists.
A Bad Time for Songs, Devised and Directed by Garreth Bradshaw (Western Australian Youth Theatre Co., Midnite Youth Theatre Co.) chronicles the collaboration between Bertolt Brecht (The Threepenny Opera, Caucasian Chalk Circle) and Kurt Weill (Mack the Knife, Alabama Song) and the times in which they lived. Featuring Brecht’s little known poetry and excerpts from his plays, and the timeless music of Weill, this show is certainly a must see for theatre and music lovers alike.A Bad Time for Songs stars Sam Devenport (Midnite Youth Theatre Co., Gilbert and Sullivan Society WA), Garreth Bradshaw and Claire Taylor (Midnite Youth Theatre Co, Gilbert and Sullivan Society WA, Yellow Glass Theatre Inc.). Featuring Nick Allbrook and Joe Ryan on Guitar, with musical backings arranged by Don Vickers.
