Hi all I noticed there wasnt any area on here for presenters but I thought I would sign up anyway due to the help i see people getting in other fields. I am wanting to persue a career in presenting a need an agent who is not a rip off and says that i have to do there expensive course before they sign me up. I ma looking at saftv in Sydney which is around $2000 for a part time 10 week course anyone have any ideas on courses and agents in sydney?

Shop around first and see the difference from one another, a good agent is when they want you...meaning they will be prepared to have a long term relationship with you. A good agent is when they are not just about you signing up and paying fees and then hardly ever seeing you grow as a performer. A good agent keeps in contact and helps you out in your auditions and hopefully your career path. Paying too much for just a joining fee is not a good sign and even about doing the expensive workshops and courses as an ultimatum is a trap. Some fake agents would also want you to take up there so called professional photographers as a way to get you to pay more money. If you want to save money…..Just use some suitable photos of yourself and use them or look out for emerging photographers to do your headshots. It’s pretty easy for photos and headshots. Just make sure you get the person taking your photo to take a nice and appropriate, clear snap shot of you. Simple…for you as a presenter maybe some photos of you in a suite and tie (both portrait and long shot) and then some casual snap shots of you should be fine. Make sure the background is neutral (white or grey background should be fine) here are some casting directors to look out for http://www.afc.gov.au/filminginaustralia/prodres/casting/fiapage_32.aspx http://www.afc.gov.au/default.aspx Do your research and the hard work will pay off...so shop around. Hope all goes well. Nelz
