WANTED: Actors The short film "Poppy" is a dark comedy which offers new and exciting characters for actors of a variety of ages. Filming by advanced students of Filmbites Youth Film School is due to start in the coming weeks, so for more information or to book an audition please call 9408 0362 or email info@filmbites.com.au We are seeking the following roles: (Ages are an approximation - makeup can be used in some instances) GEORGE HARRIS (40-50) George is a thoughtful, enthusiastic, gentle, cultured father of three who tries his best to assist everyone. He is always busy; he loves literature and has a slight femininity to him, however he is completely oblivious to the truth of his dysfunctional family. ARCHIBALD HARRIS (60+) Archie is a grumpy, rude old man with a very poor memory and toilet issues. He is confined to a wheelchair, but not due to disability; he’s just too lazy to walk. MARTHA HARRIS (60+) Martha is an elderly woman with a terrible temper and a knack for blaming things on everyone else but herself. She is brutally honest and often criticises others, but in a sugary-sweet, antagonizing manner. ROGER (60+) Roger is a rich old man who has retired on a large estate and lives alone. He is demanding, scowling, stubborn and hunched and would kick a beggar rather than give them a penny, despite his enormous fortune. EMILY(35-50) Emily is a tae kwon do champion who is amiable and pleasant, but whose priority is her career. "Poppy" is a non paying film but actors will receive a copy of the movie for their showreel and Filmbites films are submitted to local, national and international festivals with great results.
