Advanced Class Scene Night - The Actor's Pulse

From Monologue Night to Advanced Scene Night…we have been busy! The Advanced Meisner Acting class took to the stage at The Actor’s Pulse Studios, Sydney on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th June. The scene night was an opportunity for the students to work their craft at a performance level and put to the test the skills they’veacquired so far this year. The group performed a mixture of scenes from classic Tennessee Williams to off-Broadway plays like Douglas Beane’s The Country Club and a series of Spoon Rivers. Spoon Rivers are excerpts from Edward Lee Masters Spoon River Anthology. The 1915 publication of “Spoon Rivers”, as they have affectionately become know, is a collection of poems. The poems give the perspective of the dead of Spoon River, as they speak from beyond the grave. Advanced Students utilize the works as character development studies. Both nights went brilliantly! The spontaneity and impact of live performance always makes an actor step it up a gear or two; having an audience to work off made each actors performance more engaging and purposeful. The audience was responsive and involved and we would like to thank everyone who attended for their support and enthusiasm! The Advanced class are now beginning to prepare for their end of year Industry Showcase which will be happening in November.
