Call to Quill

Ankoku Buyo Co seeks an experienced and passionate writer to assist in the composition of a written script for our latest show Collapse. Collapse tells the story of five individuals who - through a series of events bigger than themselves - are confronted with destruction and disintegration. Where do you go when everything you know is turned on its head, and what does it mean to move on? Set in an inner-city apartment building five characters (Verity, Peta, Fern, Mother and Quidam) will be forced by natural disaster, to confront their problems and unite to fight disintegration together. As a collective that focuses on physical theatre and the collaborative process Ankoku Buyo Co will be generating the majority of material from workshops and theatrical exercises with the cast. The writer for this production will assume the task of moulding and shaping this material into a coherent, engaging and exciting script. As a collective of young artists (under 26) we would like to offer this opportunity to a budding artist, with the chance to also work with one of Perth’s best script writers Michael McCall, this is an excellent opportunity to further develop and refine script writing skills. Transcribing and refining of the script will take place over the course of October and November with the show debuting in late January/early February. Due to Budgeting issues we cannot offer a wage upfront but may be able to enter into a profit share agreement for the final show.
