MORNING MELODIES

Introducing Richard Roberts to Koorliny Arts Centre on November 11 at 11am. Roberts is a talented guitarist and vocalist who has long had an interest in music, from his English childhood school choirs and tapping along to Cliff And The Shads on Oh Boy and 6:5 Special to dancing on the furniture to Fred Astaire re-runs. In 1962 he moved to New Zealand and found that "every other bloke owned and played a guitar". Eventually he was "initiated" into performing and for more than forty years has played in various bands and duos. His solo career has also blossomed and he enjoys doing morning music gigs like Morning Melodies, saying it's good for the soul.
