Vis a Vis Theatre is a physically based company drawing inspiration from the work of renowned Polish group Gardzienice. In this adaptation of Hamlet we explore the metaphysical elements of Shakespeare's famous tragedy through the cult of the Greek god of ecstasy (madness) and the vine, Dionysus, while staying true to the spirit of Shakespeare's words. Using dances created from ancient Greek vases and ancient Greek songs to invoke the spirits whose presence is the catalyst for the tragic events.
