Tower of Wow is the story of a scientist known as DR MORPHUS and his two henchmen, the DRIVER and the HITMAN. Dr Morphus is an antihero: a brilliant physicist trapped in a world where the concept of "reality" constantly battles with the perception thereof. His view of the world has been shaped by a twisted desire for revenge in the guise of "instruction", inflicting upon the world a weapon that will ultimately make it a better place - but at what cost?
He meets the brilliant and forthright TILLY, a young woman who turns his world around, showing him that after all these years there may be another way to go. He is still tormented by the SHADOWS, his personal demons who haunt him and drive him forward, always with the threat of oblivion before him.
The narrative is further complicated by forays into parallel dimensions, clashes with ever-so-slightly insane antagonists, (namely one Captain Ralph Percino, an overzealous Police officer) and the Driver's increasing infatuation with Tilly.
Dr Morphus finds himself questioning his plans and indeed, the perception of his own life. He eventually comes face to face with his former henchman in a reversal of roles, struggling to evolve from anti-hero to hero and constantly questioning what is real and what is fiction. Where does reality begin, and where does it end?
The show resides firmly within the rock musical genre, combining contemporary staging with an innovative and surrealist approach to the concept of musical theatre, exploring the combination of live action and projected CGI.
