Shakespeare – with a little help from his friends in Bollywood
Richard III is part of a long literary tradition into the study of power and corruption. It is also a study of evil; a Machiavellian map for the rise to power and an indictment of the extremes depths to which people will descend in order to maintain that power. Given the present global political climate, Richard III speaks directly to us and cautiously reminds us of the threat of globalization; with its inherent belief in the possibility of a world ruled by a single government and one man.
Through dizzy dance numbers and intoxicating songs we meet the protagonists of RichardÂ’s world.
This production of Richard III will appeal not only to fans of Shakespeare but to all those who enjoy the popular Bollywood films that have come out of India.
Evening performances run from Tuesday the 4th to Saturday the 8th of November starting at 8pm.
A Matinee performances will be on Thursday 6th starting at 12.30pm.
Prices
Adults $10
Tertiary Students and Concession $8
Secondary Students $5
