ARC Theatre – “Melbourne’s Finest Youth Theatre Company” (Kathryn Lynch Web Wombat 2010) - is proud to present its 2013 musical production “Singin' in the Rain” which will be performed at the Banyule Theatre, Heidelberg from the 5th - 13th of July. With its energetic musical score and comical insite into the struggles of a silent film studio in their attempts to overcome adversity by adapting succesfully to the age of talking film, “Singin' in the Rain” has earned critical praise, worldwide popularity and official consideration as one the best ever musicals. The smash hit 1952 film received massive critical acclaim, with The American Film Institute hailing “Singin' in the Rain” as the greatest musical movie in American cinema, as well as the 10th best and the 16th funniest film in American history. The iconic musical number “Singin' in the Rain” was also acknowledged by the AFI as the 3rd great song in cinema. ARC Theatre's “Singin' in the Rain” brings to life the colourful settings, clever dialogue, hilarious comedy, memorable characters and epic score that have earned this timeless classic a legion of fans.
