ARC Theatre Presents “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”

ARC Theatre is proud to announce their upcoming performance of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” from the 8th-16th of February at Banyule Theatre Heidelberg. A one act musical comedy, Spelling Bee is the work of award winning lyricist and composer William Finn and Rachel Sheinkin, and tells the hilarious tale of a quirky and unique group of teenagers as they vye for the title of Spelling Bee Champion and succumb to the pressure of competition. Breaking down “the fourth wall”, Spelling Bee notably encourages audience participation, and since its original performance debut in 2005 the show has gone on to win numerous awards, including a Tony Award for the Best Book of a Musical. With a memorable characters, catchy songs and clever humour, Spelling Bee ensures an evening of fun. The competition is intense. The words are hilarious. Let the spelling begin!
