Mainly South East

------- "Mainly South East" #133 9 - 16 June, 1984 After approximately four months of workshops and rehearsals "Mainly South East" written by Nick Gill was performed to the public on Friday, June 8th and Saturday 9th and the following weekend Friday June 15th and Saturday 16th. The storyline of the production was a light-hearted look at the history of Millicent in a supper/cabaret format suitable for all the family. Problems were encountered with this production, the workshops seemed to drag on with little relevance to the production, some actors became bored with the show before blocking had started and the script was late which meant rehearsal time was limited. On a positive note, many people became involved with the production that had not previously participated in Company productions and the workshops provided valuable lessons in group interaction with the actors contributing to the direction. Audience reaction to this production were varied, some thoroughly enjoyed it, others hated it and a few walked out at interval. The production was successful from the point of involvement of a large group of people producing theatre relevant to the Millicent Community.
