MORNING MELODIES - PURPLE HAZE

CLASSIC rock ‘n’ roll, western swing and hits from the 60s and 70s will be showcased by Mandurah band Purple Haze at Koorliny Arts Centre’s Morning Melodies event on June 8. The quartet originally formed back in the 70s and was highly successful around Perth and country WA before members went their separate ways; following a reunion at a birthday party in 2009, the band re-formed. Purple Haze's line-up is lead guitar (both electric and acoustic), sax, trumpet, rhythm guitar and a driving rhythm section of bass and drums, with all four members singing leads and four-part harmonies. The band covers many styles such as classic rock ‘n’ roll, country, swing, latin, doo-wop, pop rock and some blues. Tickets cost $10. Morning tea is served at 10am and the show starts at 11am.
