La Boheme

After a sold-out debut season of Mozart's CosÁ¬ fan tutte in November, OperaBox is bringing Puccini's tragic love story La Bohème to the Fly By Night Musicians Club in Fremantle (Friday 4 May), Darlington Hall (Sunday 6 May) and North Perth Town Hall (Thursday 10 May). The production will be directed by Ethan Tomas and conducted by Daniel Masmanian. The cast (listed below) are some of Perth's finest young singers, many from the WA Opera Chorus, and the full orchestra is made up of graduates from UWA and WAAPA. OperaBox is a fresh performing arts initiative staging elegant, abridged opera productions in atmospheric venues across Perth. The group will continue its 2012 season in July with a double-bill of Donizetti's L'Elisir d'Amore (Elixir of Love) and Daniel Masmanian's original opera Ardi.
