Acclaimed juggling duo, Get The Shoe will be performing in Australia for the first time as part of the annual SirkusCircus show on January 27, 2012. The German duo combines the aesthetics of martial arts with their incredible skills in juggling and acrobatics to provide a spectacular – and hilarious – showcase. Jochen Pfeiffer and Florian Mueller-Reismann are ninja jugglers from Berlin and have toured internationally, picking up awards for their performances in Paris, China, Monaco, Moscow, and beyond. The International Juggling Association brought the prestigious Art Jennings Award back from retirement because Get The Shoe’s US show demonstrated a level of skill and professionalism at vaudeville which hasn’t been seen for many years. The only show that they will be performing in Australia - and on one night only – is the incomparable SirkusCircus show. This will be the fourth annual one-night-only event, held once again at The Factory Theatre in Marrickville. It brings together a curated mixture of local and international circus, cabaret and contemporary vaudeville performers. It has never failed to produce popular evenings of astounding skills and constant excitement. This year will be no exception, with a line up that includes Jeanine EbnÁ¶ther (Contact Juggling, Switzerland), Ina Queiss as Bikerina (Trick Cyclist, Germany), Trent Baumann as The Birdmann (Vaudeville Humourist, Melbourne), Markus Furtner (Devil-stick manipulator, Germany), and many others yet to be announced. SirkusCircus is a rare platform for high-quality, independent circus artists to showcase their talents. Stretching the limits of imagination, this diverse selection of performers will strip away the gaudiness of traditional circus, to leave an avant-garde show with an old-fashioned sense of wonderment. Combining the ongoing battles of the mind, body and juggling props of Get The Shoe, with the upbeat and edgy spectacles of a range of similarly-talented circus professionals, SirkusCircus is guaranteed to delight both young and old.
