Stirling Players Presents Return to the Forbidden Planet Director: Ryan Taaffe Musical Director: Kate McIntosh Choreographer: Hillary Readings Return to the Forbidden Planet is a Jukebox musical by director Bob Carlton based on Shakespeare's The Tempest and the 1950s science fiction film Forbidden Planet (which itself drew its plot loosely from The Tempest). The plot follows the crew of a routine survey flight under the command of Captain Tempest. Their spaceship is drawn mysteriously to the planet D'Illyria where mad scientist Doctor Prospero and his lovely daughter Miranda are marooned. Scattered throughout the show are some of the most memorable musical numbers from the 60’s and 70’s such as “Good Vibrations”, “Young Girl”, “The Monster Mash” and “Great Balls of Fire.” This show plays at Stirling Theatre, Morris Place, Innaloo over 15-17, 21-24, 28-30 July 2011.
