Les Murray is Australia's leading poet and one of the greatest contemporary poets writing in English. His work has been published in ten languages.
Les Murray has won many literary awards, including the Grace Leven Prize (1980 and 1990), the Petrarch Prize (1995), and the prestigious TS Eliot Award (1996). In 1999 he was awarded the Queens Gold Medal for Poetry on the recommendation of Ted Hughes.
Les Murray - Midland Dinner
On Friday 9th July Les will be reading his work at a literary dinner in the Midland Town Hall. From 7pm this iconic venue will be set up cabaret style with tables, so get a group together and pack a picnic.
To keep this event an affordable $10/$15, guests are asked to BYO everything – food, drinks, crockery, glasses and cutlery. This won’t be a late night, as Les has a full weekend ahead, so the formal part of the evening will be over by 9pm. You are, however, welcome to stay and chat!
Seating is unreserved configured 8-10 a table. First in best dressed.
