Full Throttle Theatre Company presents

"3 Blokes & Their Barbies"

The great Australian enigma of blokes, beer and barbecues gets put on the grill in the touring comedy show from Queensland, 3 Blokes and their Barbies, at Don Russell Performing Arts Centre on Saturday, 10 July at 8pm.

The three blokes in this delightful and wicked comedy view beer as the answer to the meaning of life and consider the love of a good woman no match for a Sunday spent in the tinnie fishing.

Whether you delight in bogan culture or cringe at the thought of a mullet, you’ll find it hard not to laugh at these dinkum Aussie blokes.

The show combines comedy sketches with musical interludes featuring bloked up versions of favourites like Big Spender and Summer Nights. In between are plenty of backyard wisdoms including a lesson on the rules and regulations of the Aussie bbq.

3 Blokes and their Barbies is the brainchild of writer Daynan Brazil who got his inspiration for the show from the obvious place - sitting around a barbie with his mates and having a laugh and drink.

“I started wondering what would happen if the blokes we all know started joking, dancing and singing about their favourite things – barbies, cars, boats,” he said.

“I knew the songs should be ones that most people recognise and like a lot, but changed a little to have a unique bloke perspective.

“All in all, I wanted the show to be a lot of fun.”
