When They Send Me Three And Fourpence

A seedy dance class in suburban St Kilda in the early sixties is somewhat unsettled by the advent of eighteen year old 'femme fatale' Betty, who fancies herself as a ballerina and sees Bob Dylan as the voice of her generation. Accomplished but flawed dance teacher Bob O'Brien strives to see his various charges - of varying levels of talent - achieve their positive potential, but faithful friends, pianist Trevor and landlady Marion are more concerned about the chance of his imminent breakdown. Breakdown becomes triumphant breakthrough for Bob and his students, but not before things reach a disturbing climax. As Dylan might have said, "The times they are a-blowin' in the wind".
