It lives! It lives… and it is beautiful.
Renegade Productions is breathing life into Mary Shelley’s immortal tale Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus, 18 March – 4 April at The Blue Room.
In a departure from the iconic green monster of mainstream cinema, this Frankenstein seeks instead the unrelenting tension and moral crisis that is the cornerstone of the classic horror novel.
A whirlwind of love, rejection, violence and redemption leaves in its wake a trail of needless tragedy. In the mutual destruction of creator and creation, Shelley exposes the essence of humanity, and reminds us of the consequences of neglect.
Frankenstein will be brought to the stage employing an intricate mix of performance, physical theatre, and performative design that has become the signature of Renegade Productions. This is the latest in a line of works by the Renegades to explore the uncomfortable aspects of being human.
