TRIO

A brand new addition to the Bakehouse TheatreÂ’s 2005 season

Dina RossÂ’ hit one-man show Trio, an undisputed highlight of the Melbourne Fringe, comes to the Bakehouse Theatre after a sell-out premiere at La Mama in March 2005.

Performed by Chris Bunworth, Trio examines the life and death of virtuoso violinist Karl Munch. His lover, agent and brother, all played by Bunworth, meet for the first time on the anniversary of his demise. As the trio tries to make sense of KarlÂ’s life and genius, they also reveal their own inner lives and personalities. What emerges is a richly vivid and complex psychological study, with brilliant characterization by Chris Bunworth who received standing ovations for his extraordinary performance.

Trio is already establishing itself as a cult classic of Melbourne theatre.

Writer Dina Ross has a string of successful plays to her name including Waiting (Green Room nomination 2004) which was included as part of the Festival of One at the Bakehouse Theatre recently. She is currently adapting Trio for radio and writing a novel.

Director David Myles has worked in theatre, TV and film in the UK, USA and Europe for 25 years. He is also a television Director and Artistic Director of Seduction Opera.

HereÂ’s what some of the critics had to say about Trio:-

“Wonderful!” ………ABC Classic FM…….. Margaret Throsby

“A virtuoso perofrmance..skilful, thought-provoking and absorbing…a script as intricate as a piece of music”…… The Age

“A must-see”………. Sunday ABC 774

“Ross’ script brims with wit and pathos…The most enjoyable one-man show I can remember seeing to date”……..Inpress
