The Funky Zoo is an exciting new Australian production for children which is saving the environment one story at a time. The story centres around a little girl called Leanne who magically finds herself in a zoo one night. She befriends a wombat who shows her what the animals in the zoo do at night PARTY! With great characters, funky songs and a little message about the environment "The Funky Zoo" is perfect for some school holiday fun and education! Does the Funky Zoo really exist? Is it just a figment of a little girls imagination and or is it a message from the Dreamtime? Come and join us while we put the fun back in Funky and find out for yourself!
Does the ‘Funky Zoo’ really exist, or is it just a figment of a little girl's furtive imagination and overactive conscience? A wild song filled adventure unfolds as a girl called Leanne is led through her own dreamtime by a philosophical and very cool wombat (Brian).
Along the way, she meets and befriends a rather serious and emotional kangaroo (Glenys). The animals freely offer Leanne the secrets of the night at the zoo and the party is set to begin. That is, until they happen across one very sad echidna (Stephen) who disappears, taking all the party spirit with him. Despite many attempts at humour and wisdom by a crazy kookaburra (Charlie), the fun looks like its over at the ‘Funky Zoo’.
Leanne’s worst fears begin to realise. Animals can’t possibly be happy in a zoo, except maybe Kelly the lazy koala. Only Stephen has the answers that Leanne seeks, so she must find him. Has he managed to escape?
