What follows throws them headlong into the world of Shakespeare's Hamlet, charged with the simple instruction to 'glean what afflicts him', all the while desperately trying to keep up and read which way the wind is blowing. As Hamlet moves inexorably toward its well known conclusion, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern discover that theirs, too, is inevitable.
