Harry's Christmas
a one man play by Steven Berkoff with Mark Newsam
Its four days to Christmas and Harry measures his place in the world by counting his Christmas cards. He doesn’t send cards unless he gets one first, that way he only gets cards from people who want to send him cards … he doesn’t want obliged cards … they don’t count. But as Christmas draws nearer and his need for human contact grows he is forced to take a more active role in re-establishing the contacts he has lost.
Steven Berkoff is a great observer of the human condition. Accurate in his portrayal and unflinching in his honesty, he has written a darkly humorous and poignant piece revealing how we think of ourselves and showing there is a little of Harry in all of us.
