Our July-August season is a very moving and powerful play about the lives of women caught up in war and  although the content is dramatic there are moments of humour as the women try to live some semblance of a life.

The play tells the story of two American women  a Park avenue psychiatrist and a trauma counsellor who go to Bosnia to to help women confront their memories of war. They hope to teach the five women refugees how to cope with their trauma However each counsellor has her own agenda and it is one of them who learns the most valuble lesson. This is a ground-breaking play about women and war - about the violence of dark memories and the enduring resilience of the human spirit.

When Ensler visited Bosnia she met women who were forced to deal with the aftermath of war and it was their stories that inspired her, their community, their holding on to love, their insane humanity in the face of catastrophy and their staggering refusal to seek revenge that moved her to write the play.

Written by Eve Ensler (The Vagina Monologues) and directed by Siobhan O'Gara the all-woman cast features Susan Lynch as the American Psychiatrist sent out to 'help', Jenny Pavone,Sarah Plummer, Linda Gefken,Sarah Isaacson,Rosemary Longhurst and Jennie Tkacz.

The performance on Sunday July 29th is a Matinee at 2 pm
