The WA Medieval Alliance presents "Medieval Fayre"

Medieval Fayre for All Fools Day
Step back in time to an era where chivalry, grace and courtesy are a way of life.
A plethora of Perth’s medieval clubs will be on display showing off their various talents including historical European swordsmanship, dark ages combat, renaissance fencing and swashbuckling as the WA Medieval Alliance presents the 2nd Annual Medieval Fayre in the heart of Perth on Saturday, 31st March 2007.
Wondrous and diverse entertainment, fun, frolic and folly will be the order of the day. Join with the nobles, serfs, Vikings, Saxons, Celts, Knights and Ladies that will grace our lively city at the Supreme Court Gardens. A grand parade will travel through the fayre grounds, delighting all with dancers, merchants, minstrels and everything medieval on the eve of All Fools Day, thanks to sponsors the City of Perth and Healthways.
The Medieval Fayre welcomes all individuals and families
from pre 16th century or the present day.
Dressing to the medieval theme is highly encouraged, however not mandatory.
Discount costume hire is available from various outlets.
Entry is affordable for one and all at only $5 and $3 concession. $3 in costume.
Children under 12 are FREE.
Mystical and upbeat music along with colourful, creative medieval characters will adorn the gardens commencing from 10am and concluding at 4pm.
Entertainment on the day will include various styles of medieval combat and swordfighting from 15th century longsword to freeform swordfighting with an oriental flavour. There will be music by ensemble group 'Trio Grosso', bagpipes, bellydancing and morris dancers, The Kossacks with their energetic display of Eastern European dancing, archery displays, trebuchet and ballista demonstrations, jugglers, knights battling for their ladies' favour and you can grab your beau and be handfasted at Gretna Green.
It will be a truly eventful medieval day for the whole family with so much to do and see, not forgetting the Roman display, blacksmith demonstrations, the markets, food courts and Drippy the Dragon will have you rolling in the aisles.
An array of medieval groups will be involved including the Society of Anachronism (a large worldwide group of re-enactors), Circle of the Sword (theatrical sword fighting group), Grey Company (one of the largest metal weapons groups in Perth), Knights School (teaches 15th century longsword), Medieval Mayhem, Historic Armouries, Freeform Swordfighting School, Kingsley Swords, House of Darksun and more...
