Museo del Grito... Intense and multilayered Velada Flamenco's new work explores themes of identity, time and the myths we create for ourselves. Four stunning and talented women will mesmerise with their amazing rhythms and sheer beauty, as accomplished actor/director Alirio Zavarce (Border Project) leads you through the four exhibits of his travelling museum.
Here will unravel a fusion of flamenco, dance, poetry, projections, live and recorded music (including Satie, Kronos Quartet, Morente and Cocteau Twins), that will challenge all your current perceptions of flamenco.
Museo del Grito is based on the insightful and sensual poetry of Yasmine Nicholls, who has been awarded a PhD scholarship in creative writing at Flinders University and is gaining a growing reputation for her magical realist style.
An extraordinary collaboration of great local talent, this Adelaide Fringe premiere features original music by Paul Hilton and Aloysius Leeson. Paul will be performing his inspired, award-winning piano composition "Desire to Sleep", plus a world-first minimalist piece using poly-rhythmic flamenco footwork.
This multi-media event is an exciting presentation of world-class talent that explores original ideas and reimagines flamenco.
