A MOMENT ON THE LIPS by Jonathan Gavin
West Australian Premiere
Red Ryder Productions, (the team that brought you Dealer’s Choice), present this Australian comedy/drama, featuring seven of Perth’s finest female actors.
Crackling dialogue, brilliantly observed and achingly funny, this journey into the lives of seven women won playwright Jonathan Gavin the 2003 Philip Parson Young Playwright Award and rave reviews.
Seven women – two orphaned sisters, two adopted sisters, two lovers, one ex. A newsreader, a housewife, a student, a nurse, an artist, a barrister and a psychic actress/waitress. There’s a school reunion, an art exhibition, a dinner to cook, a stalker to dodge, a baby to birth, a friend to mourn, parents to find and more.
A Moment on the Lips is a comedy of recognition, a tragedy of domestic proportions. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll wish you were part of their gang. If you’ve got a sister, a female friend, a same sex lover or no idea about the female mind! – this one’s for you.
“…the script fairly crackles with wit and insight…” THE AGE
“…a satisfying richness-poignant, hilarious and deeply human" SYDNEY MORNING HERALD
“…charged with energy and emotion…” STATE OF THE ARTS
