“BETWEEN THE SOUP AND THE SAVOURY” By Gertrude Jennings and directed by Brenda Stanley A light-hearted peek at life "below stairs" in the early 1900's. ______________________________________________________________________ “DARLINGS, YOU WERE WONDERFUL” By Derek Lomas and directed by Peter Kirkwood The all ladies Amazon Theatre Group are to perform a passionate, 17th century Spanish drama in a theatre Festival. Before curtain up, tensions mount as the group deals with seething passions, smoldering hate, accusations of infidelity, drunkenness and a missing actor to say nothing of Judy, who is so nervous she can’t stop talking, cleaning polishing and worrying about the lack of toilet paper. This fast moving and very funny play will give everyone an insight into what can happen backstage and behind the scenes. _____________________________________________________________________ “SEASIDE POSTCARD” By Terence Frisby and directed by Nicola Bond A hilarious comedy about a group of people assembled on the beach that could almost be regarded as characters from typical seaside postcards brought to life. During their brief sojourn in Cornwall much happens. Terry, heir to three fish and chip shops becomes engaged to Sharon; the meek worm Martin suddenly turns; an unfortunate “explosion” shatters the sunbathing calm; a wife-swapping seems imminent and a rising tide, threatens the lot of them! NOTE: "Seaside Postcard", winner of the Jenny McNae Adjudicator's Award & Peter Mann Best Costumes at the 2006 DramFest, as well as runner-up for Best Director and Best Overall Production.
