St Mary’s Church South Perth Winter Concert Series An Evening of Music and Song Friday, 7th July 2006 - 7:30pm After a successful outdoor concert in February featuring the Oz Big Band, St Mary’s returns inside for the first concert of its winter season. We are promised a night of excellent music, featuring Tenor Justin Freind and Soprano Katherine Jenkins. Justin comes to us fresh from the role of musical director of the Old Mill Theatre production of South Pacific, playing Goro in the West Australian Opera production of Madama Butterfly, and as guest artist at the Best of British …Last Night at the Proms down under Concert at the Perth Concert Hall. Justin is the President of the WA Gilbert and Sullivan Society, and is frequently involved in the local G&S scene, as well as in various productions as part of the West Australian Opera Chorus. Justin has performed in the UK at the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival 2004 and was invited back in 2005. Katherine Jenkins has performed in numerous stage and theatre productions in Perth, starring in the lead role of “The King and I” at the Regal Theatre in 2004. She is kept busy with a mix of performance and teaching, owning her own dance and singing school, “The Stage Key Company”. Katherine and Justin have worked closely together in numerous concerts and corporate performances. Also on the programme with Justin and Katherine will be the beautiful music of Angelsounds, a trio comprising, Bronwyn Wallis on harp, Kristen Morrissey on Flute and Rex Carr-White on violin. The concert will be held at St Mary’s Church, on the corner of Karoo and Ridge Streets in South Perth at 7.30pm. Tickets are $20, and are available from the parish office at the church, or by phoning 9367 1243 or 0437 803 977. A wine and cheese supper will be served at intermission.
