Most people are familiar with the saga of Edmund Blackadder and his companion Baldrick, as they bumble their way through the ages. Poor Edmund! Always staying just one step ahead of disaster. In these very funny episodes from the Blackadder III series, we find him Butler to George, the Prince Regent, with Baldrick as his “dog’s body”. In “Dish and Dishonesty” Edmond matches wits with Pitt the Younger (and Pitt the Even Younger) to keep Prince George from bankruptcy. The “evil Mossop and Keanrick”, the type of actors many of us may recognize, make Edmund’s life a misery in “Sense and Senility”, and Edmund must make a life threatening decision while trying to save the Prince in “Dual and Duality”. Along the way we meet characters you will remember for a long time to come – Mrs Miggins, who runs the pie shop; Edmund’s mad cousin McAdder; Peter Harvey, the political commentator; the Duke of Wellington; Lord Talbot Buxomly; Ivor Biggun; King George himself; and more.
Seating for this play is cabaret, so BYO drinks, nibbles & glasses. All shows start at 8pm except the Sunday May 14th matinee at 5pm.
