In 1939, when she was still a teenager, Emma Ciccotosto migrated to Australia from an impoverished rural village. Her grand daughter is now getting married and Emma is preparing the wedding feast. In this life-affirming play she relives the memories of Australia and Italy, while cooking up home style pasta, mixing recipes and family disaster into a concoction containing the joy, triumphs and tragedies of life for Italian-Australians.
Emma's story is supported by the voices of a women's choir, whose authentic provincial songs highlight this delightful piece of theatre.
